APPLE SKETCHES

12x12 Oil on Panel
In my frustration with the new paints I thought it would be a good idea just to spend some time playing with them.  I used a surface that wasn't as smooth and painted with a couple of different brushes.  I began in the lower left and continued counter clock-wise and by the time I arrived at the upper left I ran out of time so that square is left blank.  I do prefer the surface with a little more texture.  As far as the brushes are concerned I couldn't tell much of a difference.  Also, on the last one I didn't fuss as much and did the painting very quickly.    I like the experimenting and just learning something each day!

  2. Hi Linda! I like your apples very much! As you know, I ordered the same brand of paints after reading your post about trying them out. I am just getting started and they are different, but I think I like them. They seem to have a stronger color concentration and mix well with other colors. We shall see.
