HAND STUDY

6x6 Oil on Ampersand Gessobord

This week's challenge at Daily Paintworks was submitted by Claudia Hammer, the Hand Challenge.  I wanted to keep it loose, but I find that difficult when painting 3"x3" so I think I fussed with these hands a bit too much.  I'm still satisfied with how they turned out.  I may do this again on a larger support.  It was a great learning tool!

    1. In explanation, the whole support is 6x6 but each hand is on 3x3 because the support is divided into 4 squares. I guess I should have made that clearer!! :-)

  5. I love this ... each one looks as if its much larger, hard to believe each hand is only 3 x 3. .... You've done an excellent job on the hands, they really make a statement all on one canvas.
