4x4 Oil on Ampersand Gessobord
I wanted to do a still life and butter and a butter knife seemed like a good subject to do a little study. I enjoyed painting the simple shapes, which is always a good exercise.

Beautiful rich colors, Linda....shall I say buttery? Terrific value shifts in the planes of the butter, which is not as simple as it looks. I like the reflection in the knife, too. It's a small detail, but lovely. Well done!

ReplyDeleteI love this little guy and blue works so well with the yellow of the butter. I collect butter knives so this is a favorit of mine.
