FACE No. 70

This was painted on a red acrylic ground.  You can see some of the red peeking through in places.  I also tried to use as few brushstrokes as possible, which is not an easy exercise.  It is so easy to overwork a painting.  I'm pleased with the result.
An essential aspect of creativity is not being afraid to fail.

  6. The underpainting on his nose and forehead are great, love your placement of the head on the panel and that quote is one I should tape to my easel for sure!
