I chose this man because of his glasses low on his nose. Profiles are difficult for me, but this one seemed to paint itself. I love it when that happens!
Week 14 features Linda “Goldie” Nickles...All that glitters is not always gold. Goldie is as notorious as the rest of the gang. We believe she has a hideout on the island but authorities have not been able to locate the area she resides in nor apprehend her. Beware because she is a seasoned traveler and can assimilate herself into any environment...she is no less devious than the rest of the gang despite her petite stature and innocent look...she will shoot first and ask questions later. If you have been shot check local galleries for your likeness. If you are visiting Hilton Head be especially cautious...she has been known to walk among the visitors and shoot using her silencer...
Cathy “The Traveler” Engberg was first seen in Chicago shooting and Wreaking havoc in popular tourist sites. Wherever there was a crowd Cathy would stealthily make her way into the venue and begin shooting. Millennium Park is still recovering from her visit. She then was seen with the Hilton Head Gang. It isn’t known whether the rest of the gang was in Chicago also or if she travels alone. What is known is that she is armed and dangerous. Shots will be fired...paintings will be rendered. Check out local galleries for her artwork. Don’t approach her without backup.

If you are not familiar withTerry Miura's work, please take a look at his blog. He has posted a very interesting challenge with some great tips on painting and simplifying a cityscape. I did two paintings. Both were really fun and I learned a great deal. If you are up for another challenge this one is a really good one!
Another mug shot. I was drawn to her because she wasn't looking at the camera, but in a different direction. In addition, I liked her thick hair. It was fun to paint.
I think this will be my final bra painting, at least for the time being. So many other things to paint and I'm satisfied with my exploration of this subject for now.
Dawn “The Shadow” Hartigan is so named because she is deceptively quiet. She sneaks in with an unassuming look and an unsuspecting public can expect to be exposed. Shots will be fired in rapid succession and before you know it “The Shadow” has moved to her next victim. Paintings will be painted, shown in galleries, and bought by people you don’t even know. You could actually be hanging in someone else’s home without your knowledge. You won’t even know...only “The Shadow” knows...
This month's challenge forSome Texas Artists Like to Paint is "BRA." I submitted the challenge and I'm happy that it was chosen. It is a different still life that most artists paint and that is one reason I thought it would be a good subject. In addition to that reason, I chose this topic because back in June or July when we were asked to submit challenge topics my daughter-in-law had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Bras were on my mind! By the way, she has completed chemo and breast reconstruction and is doing great!
I would like to introduce you to Maggie .... once again. I first introduced her in 2010, the first year I began my blog. I painted this from a photograph I took of her when she was a puppy. She is my very sweet and incredibly intelligent King Charles Cavalier Spaniel and my buddy. My studio would not be complete without Maggie sleeping on her soft dog bed. I'm afraid she's not much an art critic. She just loves everything I paint (if only she had a PayPal account!). I hope you have someone that is as good a companion as Maggie is to me!
