PITIFUL CUP

6x6 Oil on Ampersand Gessobord

Well, I tried again to paint a white cup. White is so difficult for me and I realize I need lots of practice. Most of my attempts have been relegated to the garbage and will never see the light of day. However, I need to post today and this is all I have at this time. So, here is my poor, pitiful, white cup.

  1. You made me laugh out loud! I know just how you feel.

White is very difficult. But...it really does look like a white cup. and the deep pink in the background, pale pink in the handle, and the pink polka dots really add a nice touch. This has an abstract quality. It's a better painting than you think. Keep painting!

  2. Interesting compositon! I think you are getting really good with the whites...you chose a particularly difficult angle on the cup!

  3. I like your painting. The white cup is really very nice, and your edges are really great. Colors and composition make me think of an old fashion soda fountain.

  4. Seems like it should be so easy, doesn't it? Someday it will click, for you and me! Thanks for your nice comments to me, Linda!

  5. I agree with Virginia, the title (not the cup ) is LOL ! I like the grays in the shadows and rim, colorful and still looking white
