6x6 Oil on Ampersand Gessobord
This man was on his cell phone, absorbed in an intense conversation. I loved his clothes, especially his hat. It was a bright day and everything caught the light. So I schlepped after him in my best covert way, which wasn't easy with my camera hung over a bright teal jacket and cap on my head. Game on! I got several good photos and chose the easiest to paint (I am unbelievably rusty! ...... OK I'm a wimp) I hope to re-visit these photos and paint him again. Little did he know that he was such an interesting subject!

I love it! Love your brushstrokes and the bright colors. You did make him look better than he was...as I recall hahaha.
ReplyDeleteLove this fellow! Great painting and love the brushwork. Hilarious post! Made me smile and can just imagine you saying every word!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this linda!!! looking forward to more!
ReplyDeleteThe light depicted on his jacket is nicely depicted. I like how you've blurred the trees in the background, and the negative spaces have interesting shapes. Your story is so funny, Linda!
ReplyDeleteGreat drawing on this. All that figure drawing paid off.
ReplyDeleteI like the almost abstract background and that saucy hat.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on this figure, Linda. You really captured him well!
ReplyDeleteI like you latest painting. you have also taken some really good photos that are going to be great paintings.
ReplyDeleteLove the light and hat! Great figure
ReplyDeleteLol Linda! I love hearing stories like yours. My college age kids think I'm nuts when they see I'm intent on getting a good shot of something they think is ordinary. When they see the finished product then they understand. Your passion for art is very evident in this piece. The lighting is marvelous.
ReplyDeleteyou did a great job on him...he does indeed look "absorbed"!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you caught him mid step and the composition is terrific!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on this Linda! Love the colors, the composition , the great light. It all works!
ReplyDeleteLove your teal story too. What should we wear when trying to be incognito? Teal works in HH.
fabulous, Linda.
ReplyDeleteI must say that I've been sleuthing around shooting everything in sight for many years :D
