KAITLYN'S FANCY PURSE

6x6 Oil on Gessobord

My 5 year old granddaughter, Kaitlyn, loves clothes. She and her mom went to 5 different stores looking for the perfect birthday outfit for her to wear to her party. This is one of her purses.

HOBIE

6x6 Oil on Gessobord

Last November while walking along Ponte Vedra Beach I saw this Hobie just waiting for someone to take it out. It appeared as though it had been there for quite some time.

COSMO

6x6 Oil on Gessobord

This is Cosmo. He is half Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and half Poodle.....a designer dog or what we used to call a mutt. Cosmo has a great personality, is sweet, and full of energy. He thinks he is a lap dog, but believe me he is way too big to sit on anyone's lap. If Cosmo were human, he would be labeled a social butterfly. The more the merrier with humans and animals. When Cosmo enters a room there is no quiet. He's a great dog!

RED SHORTS

6x6 Oil on Gessobord

This was painted from a photograph I took in Florida last November. I know summer is just around the corner, but after all the snow and cold weather it does seem like it is slow in coming. This painting was a good reminder that warm weather will be here before we know it!

Trish Siegel gave me this Sunshine Award!! Wow! I am so pleased. Thank you, Trish!!

[sunshineblogaward.jpg]

This was not an easy task, as there are so many good blogs! These are only a few that I enjoy and would like to share. I could add more and more - although it would probably take me days to do it! Enjoy these twelve - they are wonderful! :-)

SNOW IN TEXAS!

Snow tastes s0-0-0-0 good!

Waiting for the gang.

They have arrived!

Here are just 3 of the many photographs I took while taking care of 3 of my grandchildren.:-) I had such a good time and the snow - we had a foot!! - was an added bonus. Thankfully we had power, but did not have satellite for a couple of days so no tv and no computer. Not a bad thing. Snow in Texas doesn't last long and today we have sun!

RED HAT

10x10 Oil on Canvas Board
NFS

First, I need to apologize for the bad photograph. This was a really fun painting. I painted this lady with a palette knife. The colors went on thick and juicy. Fun and a great learning experience. Isn't every painting a learning experience?

TEXAS ARTIST

10x10 Oil on panel
NFS

This is a painting I did from a photograph I took last spring at the Paint Out at Prairie Fest in Fort Worth. There were some fantastic artists working that day. You can get some wonderful paintings and it is just fun to be in this beautiful prairie in the middle of Fort Worth.

I haven't been able to photograph any paintings in the last few days. I need to learn how to photograph inside without getting glare. It just continues to rain and rain so I am having a difficult time getting outside to photograph.

GOSSIP

These women were having the best time soaking up the sun and chatting about who knows what - but, VERY interesting I am sure.

BLUE HAT

6x8 Oil on Ampersand Gessobord

I would rather have Kelley MacDonald's blue shoes and bag, but this lady seems to be happy with her fancy hat!

MORNING MEETING

6x6 Oil on Gessobord

Every time I see birds all together in a tree, on wires or signs I imagine them having a meeting. These are only a few birds. Sometimes there are dozens and it feels like an Alfred Hitchcock movie!

LOOKING FOR SHARKS TEETH

6x6 Oil on Gessobord

My brother-in-law, David, has quite a collection of sharks teeth. He and my sister, Julie, live in Ponte Vedra Beach near the ocean. :-) I took a photo of him when I was visiting. I think it makes a nice little painting.

Clothespins

6x6 Oil on Gessobord

This is a still life I painted. This is the 3rd clothespin painting I've done. I like the finished paintings, but drawing all those straight lines! Whew!!

Bathtub

6x6 Oil on Gessobord in Frame

This is a painting I did last Fall from a photograph I took at the home of Thomas Wolfe in Asheville, NC. My sister, Julie, and I take a little trip each year when the hot temperatures of summer have cooled and the trees are full of color. We laugh, get lost, eat, get lost, laugh some more, get lost, and see all the sights - those planned and those not planned. It's a trip we both look forward to each year.
The frame is made by Phil, my wonderful husband.

MAGGIE

6x6 oil on gessobord

I have been looking at art blogs for the past several months and decided that this would be something that I would enjoy. I've been a bit anxious about it, but I just need to dive in. The practice of painting every day or most every day will provide a discipline that I need and a way to improve. So here goes. No time is better than now. This painting is of our dog, Maggie. She is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and the absolute sweetest, most intelligent, wonderful dog on the planet.
Now that I have started this, I guess it is time to publish. I hope it works!
