BOARDING HOUSE BATH

Framed by Phil, my husband.

11x14 Oil on Canvas

This is a painting I did for the 2010 FWCAC (Fort Worth Community Arts Center) Biennial Show. I painted it from a photograph I took at the Thomas Wolfe house and a smaller study I did last year. I took it to CAC this afternoon. It was a busy place with several people hanging paintings and photographs. Lots and lots of good work. I'm looking forward to going back in a couple of days when everything is up.

  5. I'm very taken with paintings of old bathrooms/fixtures! For whatever reason they read as very contemporary--perhaps because it is such a far out thing to exalt. Your bathtub painting is first rate. Hope to see more like it in the future. :)

  7. Hi Linda,I neglected to leave my comment the other day on this wonderful bath tub painting. I think it's the great sunny yellow that really strikes me, along with your broad brushwork. It's very inviting.

  8. Hi, Linda. The bathtub is an unusual subject, but this piece is very well done, and the colors are perfect. Your little tweeter is posted and linked and chirping happily on Windows to the Words Art. Thanks so much for participating.

  9. Love this, Linda! I like the subte blues in the tub and the area of dark space frames it nicely. Strong composition!
