BIG YELLOW TRUCK

6x6 Oil on Gessobord

This is my submission to Virtual Paintout. This month we are exploring the Canary Islands. I wanted to do something a little different from landscapes or seascapes. When I saw this yellow truck I knew it was for me. I can see some changes I would make, but overall I am pleased with it. This is really a great challenge and lots of fun. Bill Guffey is the host and he does a fantastic job. Thank you, Bill!!

  3. that is a great use of your yellow. I like the way you have it intruding onto the painting. Loved your trumpet player several posts back. great red in that painting.

  6. I really like this one too. In addition to capturing the odd lighting you also managed to convey movement convincingly. Very nice!

  7. Linda,
This truck is moving...not sure how you achieved it but it really apears to be whizzing along. I went to the link thinking that I would try the challenge but I couldn't figure it out. You who are computer saavy! Great job

  10. Wow! Very bold. Great tonal range. I like that you picked an unusual Canary Island scene, and it's fun that the truck is as yellow as a Tweetie Bird.
