I am having problems painting something that is worth posting. My brush just sort of does its own thing and we are not in sync! This is a painting I did about two years ago. I was initially drawn to his red jacket and he also reminded me of New Orleans - one of my favorite places.
Well, I'm glad you posted it! Elegant and very striking. Excellent colour!
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely piece! you've captured so much in his body language and i love the glints onthe trumpet as well as the fantastic red jacket. and the problems painting? it is an occupational hazard.... i see it as a growing spurt and do other things:)
ReplyDeleteI like this vibrant colour, too!
ReplyDeleteI know that feeling when you long to paint and nothing happens. I have been trying on such days to get totally involved and painting using my fingers it might not produce the most wonderful art but it sure makes me feel part of it.
ReplyDeleteOoo! That red coat! The complementary background really makes this sing. Excellent.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, Love the graphic nature and composition of this work and of course the wonderful red. I see by your comment on C Marine's blog that I will get to meet you at her workshop this week...yay!
ReplyDeleteA nice spirit in this painting, Linda. I commisserate with you about misbehaving brushes.
