FACE No. 80

6x6 Oil on Ampersand Gessobord
You know how some paintings just appear on the canvas?  This is one of those paintings.  I knew immediately that I wanted to paint him.  Beautiful, dark skin tones and the shift of his head spoke to me.  I may paint him again in a larger format.

  1. I do know what you mean...sometimes I also wonder..."who painted this?"...same sort of thing. This fellow does have wonderful color and expression...and I love how you caught those great shapes throughout.

  2. These mugs are wonderful. I love the profile...the skin tones and the mood you are able to achieve with your loose brush strokes. Love it!

  3. definitely paint this one larger too! Love the angle. Great composition

  4. Un très joli portrait ma chère Linda. Bravo sincèrement!
Un magnifique travail dans sa chevelure ainsi que les nuances de couleurs.

    Gros bisous à vous.

  5. This is a great painting Linda - the skin tones are marvellously done and the perspective is masterful.

  6. Alison:

A very nice portrait my dear Linda. Sincerely congratulations! A magnificent job in his hair and shades of colors. Big hugs to you

Thank you, everyone! Your comments are very valuable to me!!

  7. Really love the position and tilt of his head. Great job on the skin-tones and hair. You've really captured a personality—he seems gentle. It makes for a compelling mood piece.

  8. You are Cape Cod..Stop by Hingham and let's see what you have painted..seriously

Thank you for taking the time to view my blog and leaving a comment! I read and appreciate each and every one!!
