This portrait of Stormy was painted in Angela Elledge's moleskin for the Texas Moleskin Round-Up. Angela is a known dog lover and she paints beautiful dog portraits. I thought Stormy would be a good addition to her book.
Stormy was adopted by my three grandchildren, Abby, Ben and Asher after she was abandoned by her previous owner. She is a sweet and very smart dog. Although, when she proof read this post she didn't understand why I identified her as a dog!
I must add a belated HAPPY NEW YEAR to all!! I had a wonderful holiday with family and am just now getting back to my normal (did I say normal?) routine. I got up to the studio yesterday and I have to admit to being rusty after 3 weeks of not painting. I've missed it and very happy to be able to work again. :-)
I've been wondering where you are! Welcome back...great painting of the little dog :)
ReplyDeleteLove your dog painting. I always like shadows too. Well done!
ReplyDeleteVery cute painting of Stormy and I can see by the tight pull of his leash that he has a very curious personality.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back Linda! Hope you haven't been up to any misdeeds—your new reputation is following you—Karin Jurick paints a pretty scathing portrait of you! Really like the strong value and contrast against your wonderful variety of grays in Stormy.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Linda! You're developing such a distinctive palette and I love how you handled the shadow. Glad you're getting back into a routine, I feel the same way after all the holiday busy-ness.
ReplyDeleteHey Linda,
ReplyDeleteYour painting is beautiful and I am excited to see my book on its return to me. In addition to everything that has already been said, I like the soft pink/peach tones you've painted in the background to compliment Stormy's gray fur. Now get busy and paint Stormy for Abby, Ben and Asher!! :-)
Wow! I think everyone I'm watching is painting dogs right now! Love his little tongue and warmth in the background.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! Missed you!! Just catching up on my blog reading and came across Stormy! Love his gorgeous grays...also the wicked good shadow. Glad to see you back and think we are all gearing up for a wonderful new year!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the Texas Moleskin roundup! Stormy looks like a lively, fun pup, who is LUCKY enough to be welcomed into your extended family! A cutie!
