6x6 Oil on Ampersand Gessobord
This is another submission to Virtual Paintout. I'm not as pleased with this one as I am with my first painting for this month's challenge. But, as always, I enjoyed painting it. I'm looking forward to seeing June's destination!
You should be Just As Pleased ..or a bit More Pleased...nice shapes and colors here.Wonderful painting. I can feel the warmth of the day... it makes me want to eat a pickle and a tomato for some reason.
ReplyDeleteIt looks excellent to me as has been said great use of colour.
ReplyDeleteI think it is lovely, Linda. I especially like the red and green together.
ReplyDeleteI really like this submission to the Virtual Paintout. Both this one and your other one are nicely composed and very striking in the use of color. Nice work.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you reminded me of this challenge...I want to try it. This has an excellent feeling of light, with the white being just a little warm, but not overwhelming. love the red roof!
ReplyDeleteI like this a lot, has a wonderful sense of light.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about why you're not as happy with this one... I think it's got that great simplicity and I especially like the strength and yet subtlety of the pole and wires.
ReplyDeleteFresh! I especially love the wires! Wonderful clean color.
ReplyDeletethe red and green really work together
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, I'm back to blogging after a bit of an absence. I have just caught up on your blog and what wonderful work you've been doing. I can really see your voice coming through with some of these paintings, I like how you are simplifying and painting the essence of the subject. I especially like your paintings from the Czech Republic, we were there last summer and your paintings make me want to go back! I didn't paint over there but I did a lot of sketching (on my blog).

Although I haven't had much time to communicate with my fellow bloggers lately, I wanted to tell you how much I have in enjoyed the vibrant color palette in your last few paintings. I especially love the painting you did of the rail cars in Prague! Great work!
ReplyDeleteBTW, thanks for you comments and for checking out Jenn's blog. She is very excited about sharing her work and really appreciates the feedback.
I was very excited to have a follower on my blog! I am definitely a little new to blogging, but thank you so much for your wonderful comments! By the way, I love your paintings, especially the Czech Republic ones.
