6x6 Oil on Ampersand Gessobord
I tried to use as few brush strokes as possible on this painting, however I certainly did not accomplish what I set out to do. I messed with it too much and I have no excuse for it. However, I'm fairly pleased with how it turned out. I may try peas again as it was fun and when the light hits the pods and peas there are many different greens.
This is delightful! Fresh peas are always a welcome sight. Lovely job on the translucency of the shell and the shadow!
ReplyDeleteyou know, I keep forgetting to do that "with the least strokes" thing. I KNOW it would be a great exercise. You did very well with this--what good shapes and greens!
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, great to come over and visit your blog! To me, it doesn't look like you messed with it...I love doing that too....as few strokes as possible. SO difficult! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely peas!
ReplyDeleteThis is spectacular! You are much braver than I am...I couldn't bring myself to paint an opened pod...round..they are wonderfully round...value work is great!
ReplyDeleteI like this subject and the placement of all your elements.
ReplyDeletelovely composition and handling of greens. i love what you have decided to experiment with: it is something i struggle with. Have you seen Michael Naple's brushwork?
ReplyDeleteNot only is this a fabulous, creative subject, you did an amazing job- trying to use the least amount of strokes!
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping buy Linda! These peas are great....I love the shine on them, looks really fresh!
ReplyDeleteBravo! Terrific work on this, Linda! The shadows and translucent pods are so good. What a witty title too!
ReplyDeleteI think they turned out great. It's not an easy task using as few brushstrokes as possible to say what you want to say.
