This is a very quick oil sketch from a photograph. I wanted to do something different and also to limit my brush strokes. It certainly isn't a museum piece, but I think I succeeded in what I set out to do. I intended to lay a brush stroke and not touch it, but his head was just too wide - made him look VERY strange - so I had to change it. All others are put down and that is where they stayed. It is good practice and it was fun to do. I love to paint!!!

  1. Linda,
This is done so well! A Super Job!! I love to practice this also...I still do some of the exercizes from Carol's workshop.

  2. I really like the less is more type of painting--this is just right!

  3. This painting immediately stroke my eye, I especially love this kind of blue, and the moving of the body.Very good!

  4. Nice little sketch. Painting like this, I find like target practice — the more one does of it, the more likely it will be to hit the target. Thanks for your ongoing comments on my blog.

  5. Perfect placement, light, proportions...the whole nine yards. are there more figures in your future??

Thank you for taking the time to view my blog and leaving a comment! I read and appreciate each and every one!!
