6x6 Oil on Ampersand Gessobord
Shallots from Central Market ended up in my still life today. I may paint them again as it was fun to try to capture the values, colors and the modeling. Not perfect, but I am pleased with the outcome, so I may try it again. Painting is such a joy!
Linda!!! Beautiful painting! You should be very pleased.

ReplyDeletethank you for your comments Linda, these shallots are full of depth and richness. I also enjoyed your virtual paint out painting, I've been wanting to post on that blog, but keep missing the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteLove the close-up composition!
ReplyDeleteLinda, they are just beautiful! There is such an old world feel to this painting!! Love it!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the color, values and brushwork. Love the dark background.
ReplyDeleteperfection!
ReplyDeleteThis is very strong painting and I love the largeness of the scale, especially since it's a small painting.
ReplyDeleteLinda, there's something very fabulous about the strip of off white across the bottom and the dark/dense background-- Your textures and highlites look amazing here. Nice job!
