12x9 Oil on Ampersand Gessobord
I painted this in Linda Reedy's studio. She has some fantastic still life props and her studio is so pleasant to paint in with its large windows and space to spread out. And the best is that we have become friends and we have fun painting together. Please check out Linda's blog. Her paintings are amazing! She just moved here from Boston and is represented by Alden Gallery in Cape Cod.
I'm trying to loosen up and with this painting I did to some extent. Still need to work on that, but I am really having a blast trying some new things. This is a larger support that I normally use and that was fun, too.
Fun trying new things with our art, great job on this one. I so understand the need for "loosening up". it's an ongoing exercise.
ReplyDeletePurple and green are great together. Nice shadows and reflection of the purple on the bowl is perfect!
ReplyDeleteThe graphic quality in this one is striking. I can see that you did loosen up. It looks like you pushed your colors too. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteThis is really pretty. I love your colors. I've seen Linda's studio and you are right. It's a lovely location to paint in.
ReplyDeleteYou have nice soft edges in this one. It does look looser.
ReplyDeleteOh ! ...I'm in love with this one, Linda. The shade of lavender blue is so exciting - stirs the passions. Compliments the bold composition as well.... fabulous. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I have a "thing" for green and purple together!
ReplyDeleteI love this, Linda! Your brushstrokes are nice and loose.
ReplyDeleteI'm envious that you have a friend to paint with! I'm hoping that I will be fortunate enough to make a painting friend once we move into our new house and neighborhood.
Love every single bit of this!!
ReplyDeleteThe simplicity and clarity of this is so impressive. A painting that a person could live with for a very long time.
