6X6 on Ampersand Gessobord
While in Birmingham we visited the Botanical Gardens. Not only was the day full of sunshine, but the air was clear and permeated with fragrances from the flowers in bloom. Simply intoxicating! I took many photographs and several from the Japanese Gardens. I chose this photograph to paint because the bright red bridge was beautifully reflected in the pond. It's a reminder of a wonderful day!
Nice. I like the simplicity of the scene, with the surrounding foliage just suggested. The light reflecting off the bridge is great as well.
ReplyDeleteTout en romantisme cette peinture...
ReplyDeleteTrès beaux reflets. Gros bisous
I like your very impressionistic version of this Japanese bridge. Nice reflections make this hold together so well!
ReplyDeleteWe have one of these at our Memphis Botanic Gardens and I am going over this week to catch the spring flowers. Can't wait!
Very impressionistic. I love this style the very best in garden and landscape paintings, like yours.
ReplyDeleteImpossible not to think of Monet!! This red bridge is such an eyeopener , it would be the focal point in any garden.
ReplyDeleteA lovely, tranquil scene beautifully painted.
