6x6 Oil on Ampersand Gessobord
The challenge this month for Some Texas Artists Like to Paint is "tools" suggested by Lorraine Shirkus. It's a fantastic subject and fun to find a tool that would be good to paint. My problem was narrowing down what I found! I want to visit this subject again as the tools just around the house are endless. I had to make a decision and because I use these pliers often in the studio to remove stubborn caps on paint tubes I knew this would be the first tool for me to paint. Sometimes our everyday tools are over looked. What tools do you have that you would paint?
Perfect job on this. I don't carry pliers but I know a lot of artists do. A fun painting.
ReplyDeleteI think we can all relate to this painting:) Great job!
ReplyDeleteWonderful perspective- like the shadow on the pliers. I really like those colors although I was expecting orange and blue from you:)
ReplyDeleteNice job on this, Linda. Good job on the metal. And I love the yellow paint tube with the yellow on the handle of the pliers. Really nice composition, too.
ReplyDeleteI also keep a pair of pliers in my paint box. And I just bought a new tool--a paint extruder to get all the paint out of a tube. It works well.
Really like the way you made your metal tool melt into the background with those bits of lost edges.
ReplyDeleteMy absolute favorite tool is my tube wringer which sounds either like a torture device or something you would find in a Hustler shop!
I love this one, Linda! I make jewelry and am so very in love with all my tools! If I painted, I think I'd have to paint my cruddy little anvil and chasing hammer!
ReplyDeleteInteresting topic Linda! Nice lost edges on those pliers!
ReplyDeleteUmmmm... my favorite tools??? I don't use tools (pliers, etc.) that much, but in the studio, I would have to say... my brushes!
Linda..what a wonderful piece. Just love it. Well done!
Bisous
I love this one with the complementary colors, the shadow of the pliers are beautiful. I remember painting an eggbeater in school...agrghhhh!Might be worth another look though, tools are fascinating and a shared part of our lives.
ReplyDeleteperfect pliers and paint ! I always have a pliers in my brush container... useful to open those pesky tubes !! great little 'gem'
ReplyDeleteLinda, thank you for all your sweet and supportive comments on my blog.... I respect your opinions very much !
great job on this Linda, my favorites would be brushes, pencils and paints. I really like the way these somehow fit together even though they are so different.
ReplyDeleteNice composition and I like the white/black/yellow palette you used. My very cheesy pliers (ause they work!)are always near when I paint too.
ReplyDeleteNice Linda!
ReplyDeleteThe things we paint. Love it.
