8x10 Oil on Gessobord
Wet Canvas provided the reference photo for this painting. I've wanted to paint a ballerina for some time and finally took the leap. I used a complementary color scheme and will submit this to this week's DPW challenge. Capturing the light coming from behind her was also a consideration that I wanted to portray. This was another painting that was fun to do.
Very nice job, Linda. Really good job on depicting the figure. I like the color scheme, too.
ReplyDeleteBallerinas are always so graceful and lovely. And this is little dancer is no exception. Very pretty, Linda!
ReplyDeleteThe best painting I have seen! Love the whole thing- you have beautiful skin tones and the edges are wonderful. Linda- you need to do more figuratives:)
ReplyDeleteWow, Linda! Just beautiful. I think you should paint some more ballerinas!! ;)

This is very lovely Linda, yes, I agree with Kathy, do more figures- I like the warm light against her back too
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ballerina, she really comes to her right with the strong colors surrounding her. J Joy is right , you should paint some more ballerinas.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeaucoup de sensibilité se dégage de cette peinture... Une grande délicatesse pour cette jolie danseuse...
ReplyDeleteGros bisous et merci pour votre gentil commentaire.
Great color combo here, nice job on the figure, figures are hard!
ReplyDeleteWhat do I love the most about this? I love how you controlled the viewer's eyes with the shapes on the ballerina. The colors are gentle, and the brushwork on the figure - particularly the tutu - just WOW. I can tell you loved doing this!
ReplyDeleteYour use of complements and the simplicity of form really make this sing!! Great job!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and sensitively painted!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this Linda!
